‘10 Lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Houses will be Allotted within 2022’-Naba Kumar Doley

LAKHIMPUR: Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Naba Kumar Doley on Monday inaugurated a total of 200 schemes implemented under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in nine blocks of Lakhimpur district. On this occasion, the inaugural ceremony was organized in a befitting manner at the Lakhimpur District Sports Association Playground located at Chandmari village under Ujjalpur Gaon Panchayat of Lakhimpur Development Block. In the same event, the minister also inaugurated 200 residential houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Gramin in the district.

Inaugurating the schemes and the residential houses, the minister appealed the people of the State to come forward in order to take the benefits of the aspiring schemes adopted by the P&RD department. He stressed on the people’s awareness on these schemes in order to prove them effective for the eradication of poverty from the rural area of the State.

“A total of 8000 schemes implemented under P&RD were inaugurated across the State on the day. Further, the 2,60,000 residential houses constructed under PMAY in the State at present will be completed by January next. Such houses will be allotted to at least 10 lakh people of the State within 2022. More over, implementation of such houses to 25 lakh people of the State, who were left out from the Socio-economic census administered in 2011, is under process.

“Regarding this due proposal has been put forwarded to the centre,” he said while delivering lecture in the event in which Chief Executive Officer of Lakhimpur Zila Parishad Pradip Doley was also present. Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, Bihpuriya MLA Debananda Hazarika, Lakhimpur District BJP President Phanidhar Baruah also spoke on the occasion highlighting the government schemes. On the other hand, Dhemaji MLA Dr. Ranoj Kumar Pegu, representative of Nowboicha MLA Mamun Imdadul Haque Choudhury were among those who were present in the programme.
