10 students from Little Stars Senior Secondary School nomited for Ishan Vikas scheme

DIGBOI, June 8: CBSE affiliated Little Stars Senior Secondary School in Digboi town in Tinsukia district has been in the limelight over a period for its various academic and other achievements, thus playing a significant role towards the cause of spreading education and helping nurture students.

Achieving another milestone to this effect, the school has been selected by the HRD Ministry, Government of India, to nomite 10 students from Class IX and Class X to participate in the 15-day educatiol module under Ishan Vikas scheme being organized at IISER, Mohali.

During an interview with The Sentinel, Saradindu Das, the administrator of the school said that 10 students of the school - Ankur Mech, Asin Deori, Priyangshu Malakar, Abvhik Bhattacharjee, Jugal Kishore Borsaikia, Rishita Dutta, Amrita Priyam Baruah, Farhiz Muskara Saheen, Mridusmita Dey and Senorita Benedict have been nomited from the school and accordingly will avail the much-sought after module under the scheme and the classes of which have already commenced at IISER Mohali. Two teachers - Indrani Benerjee and KD idu have accompanied the students.

Ishan Vikas is a comprehensive plan to bring the selected school children from the north-eastern States into close contact with the premier institutions in India including IITs, NITs and IISERs. Under the scheme, the students of educatiol institutes in the north-eastern States studying in Class IX and Class X are being sponsored for a 15-day visit to a premier institutions in India and the entire cost (travel fare, fooding and lodging) being borne by the government for the students and accompanying teachers too.
