100 LPG connections,  75 power tillers distributed

DHUBRI, April 18: Around 100 LPG connections were distributed formally among the women under Ujjwala Yojana in Salkocha village of Dhubri district recently by Bilasipara (East) BJP legislator, Ashok Kumar Singhi. In a ceremonial distribution of LPG connection to women, Singhi said that the Ujjawala Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for poor village women for making cooking easier for them.

 “A hundred poor women from each village of the country are being benefitted by this scheme. In Bilasipara also, 100 poor women from each of the villages will be provided with LPG connections free of cost, only they have to pay for the cylinder,” Singhi added. The meeting was also addressed by Chapor Revenue Circle Officer, Nabajit Pathak, an officer of Bilasipara Food and Civil Supply, Sunil Das, manager of Mahamaya Gas Agency, Prabhakar Chakraborty and executive member of central committee of BJP, Prafulla Kalita.

 Meanwhile, the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar was celebrated across the Bilasipara subdivision of Dhubri district as Gram Swaraj Abhijan, and  in order to create awareness among the villagers on the implementation of various schemes and development works, a meeting was held at Ariarjhar near Chapor town of Dhubri district on April 14. Singhi, while addressing the meeting, highlighted the ongoing works and implementation of schemes in the district and in his constituency as well. The meeting was also attended and addressed by Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani and Bilasipara subdivisional officer Rohan Kumar Jha. Earlier, Singhi also distributed 75 power tillers among the farmers at Dhubri Agriculture Office.
