10th Dibrugarh Book Fair from Dec 1

Dibrugarh, Nov 21: The 10th Dibrugarh Book Fair, 2017 organized by Milan Jyoti Sangha in association with All Assam Publishers and Book Sellers Association will be held from December 1 to December 10 at the Chowkidinghee field.  Book sellers from different parts of Assam as well as from other States are expected to take part in the book fair.

The book fair will kick-off on December 1 with an iuguration ceremony that will be graced by several lumiries. The chief guest for the event will be eminent poet and litterateur Hare Krish Deka. Noted writer and former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr. gen Saikia will grace the iugural function as honoured guest. Many other dignitaries, including Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Dr. AK Buragohain; MP, Dibrugarh Lok Sabha, Rameshwar Teli and others will  also grace the occasion.

The book fair that will continue over a period of 10 days will also witness many interactive sessions, competitions as well as cultural programmes taking place. Renowned poet and former editor of The Sentinel, Hare Krish Deka will engage in an interactive dialogue with writers and readers on December 1 at 5 p.m. A discussion on ‘The role of media in the present scerio’ will be carried out by senior jourlists like Ajit Kumar Bhuyan, Ikbal Ahmed and Dr. Pranjal Buragohain on December 7 which will be moderated by Dr. Satyakam Borthakur of Dibrugarh University.
