10th Golf Cup begins today

SHILLONG, Nov 10: The Indian Institute of Magement, Shillong will host eminent guests, from across spectrums, ranging from stalwarts of Industry, academia and government to professiol golfers from all over the country as their flagship event.

The Golf Cup commences on Sunday. The tenth edition of Golf Cup being organised in association with Meghalaya Tourism, State Bank of India, LOCL and BPCL will tee off at the “Gleneagles of the East” - the Shillong Golf Course.

The event is set to be hosted on the scenic Shillong Golf Course, known to be one of the few tural golf courses in Asia. IIM Shillong is the first Indian B -School to host its own Golf Invitatiol Tourment with the first edition convened in the year 2009. The game will be organized on a stroke play format with players ranked on the basis of finishing the 18-hole course in the least number of strokes played.

The two-day event will be preceded by the annual magement fest of IIM Shillong, Khlurthma, being organised in association with Union Bank of India, and will witness participation from more than 80 of the top B-Schools across the tion. Khlurthma, which translates to “War of Stars” in the Khasi language will bring some of the brightest minds of the country together to share their magement prowess.

As the Golf Cup enters its 10th edition, it has become a legacy of IIM Shillong. The influx of people that the event brings in contributes to the tourism in Meghalaya significantly every year. The two events will witness amalgamation of knowledge, experiences, ideas, leisure while celebrating the spirit of golf.
