11 injured in road mishap

DEMOW, May 24: A road accident took place in Demow Dehajan at NH-37 road on Wednesday evening where 11 people were seriously injured. According to sources, a Traveller car (AS 06 BC 0664) which was coming from Sivasagar and heading towards Dibrugarh, in order to avoid hitting two bike riders, lost control and hit an electric post as well as the backside of a truck (AS 11 AC 6646) which was kept near the NH-37 road. Due to accident, Bijoy Garh, the driver of the Traveller car, along with 10 passengers were seriously injured. The local people immediately took the injured to Demow Model Hospital and after doing primary treatment, Bijoy Garh, kul Bhattacharjee and Manju Bhattacharjee,  Anda Das and Parag Das of Golaghat and Nijara Raj Konwar of Moran were referred to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh for better treatment.
