12 day-long district elementary education workshop gets under way

Doomdooma, July 15: The 12 day-long District Elementary Education workshop organized by KK Handique Open University (KKHSOU), Doomdooma College Study Centre, for first and second year students of session 2017-18, commenced on Saturday where teachers of LP and ME schools under Kakapather Education block participated. 
The iugural function, which was chaired by Maneswar Barman, retired Principal, Digboi College and president, governing body, Doomdooma College, got under way with an opening group song presented by Gopal Chetri and his team of fellow students. It was followed by a welcome address by the coorditor of the KKHSOU study centre, Dr Azibur Rahman. Dhiren Deka, jourlist and vice-president, Assam Science Writers Association, attended the function as chief guest while Arjun Barua, senior jourlist and president, Doomdooma Sakha Sahitya Sabha, attended the programme as guest of honour.  Two other resource persons, Prabhat Dutta and Biren Sonowal of Patanjali Yogapith, gave talks on the benefits of yoga in our day-to-day life. President Maneswar Barman in his presidential speech amused the participants with his witty comments.
