From a Correspondent

Haflong, Jan 24: In continued agitation against inclusion of Dima Hasao in the draft agreement of ga Accord published in print and electronic media on January 19, 2018, as proposed by Jagadamba Mall, RSS leader Jadikhe isho Hosom, (JNH), the Dimasa apex body, All Dimasa Students’ Union, (ADSU), Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU), Dimasa Mothers’ Association (DMA) have called a 12-hour Dima Hasao on January 25 from 5 am to 5 pm, said JNH president  Kailen Daolagupu, general secretary of DSU, Pramith Sengyung, Uttam Langthasa, president of ADSU, Dima Hasao district at a press meet held at the DSU office  on Wednesday.

They have demanded immediate discloser of draft agreement of ga Accord, apology from Jagadamba Mall through any means of media for his statement and are opposing the inclusion of Dima Hasao in proposed galim.

Since the Central and State governments are yet to respond to their demands, they opined that if the governments fail to respond to their repeated agitation, they would be bound to go for vigorous agitation. They can go to the extent of indefinite bandh and blockade if the government continued to ignore the people of Dima Hasao.

They also appealed to all the political parties of Dima Hasao not to make this galim issue a political one, rather they should support the issue in order to safeguard the territorial integrity of the district.

Though they were supposed to call for an indefinite bandh but considering the plight of general people and also keeping in mind the Republic Day celebration, they decided to call for 12-hour Dima Hasao bandh.
