121 beneficiaries receives cheque under Atal Amrit Abhiyan

TANGLA, April 22: Under the State government’s Atal Amrit Abhiyan scheme, a total of 121 beneficiaries of Udalguri were distributed  cheques at a special distribution ceremony in the office of the Udalguri Development Block office on Sunday.

BTC Executive Member Shyam Sundi graced the event as chief guest and ceremoniously distributed the cheques. Speaking on the occasion, he termed the scheme a revolutionary one that would go a long way in providing succour to the underprivileged sections of the society in fighting critical diseases. He further urged the people to take full benefit of this scheme which would cover 428 procedures under six critical diseases and also exhorted the people to remain vigilant so as genuine people were not deprived of the scheme.

Sundi also appreciated the efforts of State Health Department and the National Health Mission for translating the scheme into reality. The event was also attended by District Project Coordinator, Bhaskarjyoti Manta. Speaking on the occasion, Manta, besides laying stress on the scheme, also apprised the gathering and health workers on Ayushman Bharat, a national health protection scheme, which will cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families providing coverage up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
