129th birth anniversary of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra observed

Haflong, Jan 29: The 129th birth anniversary of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra was observed with a day-long programme at Lower Haflong Satsang Kendra on Sunday.

The day’s programme started with prabhat pheri followed by morning prayer and am kirtan. This was followed by a procession carrying the beautifully decorated portrait of Sri Sri Thakur wherein hundreds of people from various parts of Lower Haflong took part. The procession started from the premises of Lower Haflong Satsang Kendra and marched through the main road up to Sarkari Bagan and then again converged at Lower Haflong Satsang Kendra.

At 3 pm a religious discourse was organized under the chairmanship of ni Gopal Chakaraborty, SPR wherein several speakers dwelt at length on the life and ideology of Sri Sri Thakur while discussing philanthropic activities of the Satsang founded by Sri Sri Thakur. The speakers also appealed to people to follow the path shown by Sri Sri Thakur which would help the society develop as a whole. Several hundreds of people took prasad at Anda Bazar.
