13 persons arrested during excise raids

MARGHERITA, Feb 26:Margherita Excise and Digboi Excise on Sunday jointly carried out raids in different places such as at No. 3 Borbil, Balijan, Powai Bazaar, PowaiNo. 17 line, Powai Bongaon, Tipong and Lekhapani. Total 14 cases were detected and 13 persons were arrested in this connection. During the raid, Margherita Excise and Digboi Excise seized items such as 2,200 litres of fermented wash, four DA sets, 70 litres of ID liquor, 5 litres of DPLand IMFL 5.01 BL meant for sale in Assam. A case has been registered US 53(1) A and D of Assam Excise Act.
