135 sans ILP deported  from Itanagar

Itanagar, May 17: Altogether, 135 persons were apprehended for not possessing valid Inner Line Permit (ILP) during the course of ILP checking drive carried out by Capital Complex district administration here on Wednesday.

An official release today informed that the executive magistrates along with police personnel carried out the drive in the twin capital cities and caught a total of 135 persons without any valid Inner Line Pass. All the ILP violators were sent away through the Inner Line check gate at Banderdewa on the same day.

While stating that the Capital administration has “zero tolerance” against such illegal migrants, Capital Complex DC Prince Dhawan stressed that such illegal persons may create law and order problems and breach peace and tranquility within the territorial jurisdiction of Capital Complex.

He sought cooperation of every individual to support the DA in this drive against illegal migrants. Earlier, the DC had, vide an order directed the SP, Capital and all the administrative officers to carry out intensive checking of ILP and to deport those caught without valid ILP beyond the Inner Line jurisdiction. He also directed the SP to intensify checking of ILP at all the check gates/entry gates of Capital Complex.

The DC had also directed all construction agencies involved in infrastructure development within the Capital Complex to ensure that the outside laborers engaged in work should have valid documents/Inner Lime Permit etc or else necessary action as per provisions of law will be initiated against them.

Meanwhile, Itanagar EAC Hengo Basar informed that during the ILP checking, two persons were also caught with two sacks full of cannabis (ganja), weighing approximately 70 kg, at Itanagar.

The EAC said that he has written to the OC, Itanagar PS to register a case under relevant section of NDPS Act. The vehicle used for the purpose has also been seized, informed the EAC.
