13,858 candidates to appear for HSLC exam in Dhemaji

DHEMAJI, Feb 4: Dhemaji is ready to hold the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) fil examition from February 17 and February 20 respectively.

There are 31 examition centres for the HSLC examition and 46 for the HS examition. Total number of candidates to appear for the HSLC examition is 13,858 where the number of male candidates is 7,057 and the number of female candidates is 6,801. Total number of

supervising officers is 44. There will be rotation of the supervising officers at least in 2 to 3  centres. There are five zol supervising officers. Though there are some examition centres which were known to adopt fraudulent means but this time SEBA (Board of Secondary Education of Assam) has made it mandatory for all examition centers conducting HSLC examition to have CCTV camera installed in their premises. Not only that, the board also wants the centres to have high walls around the campus.

“SEBA wants fool-proof security in examition centres. The government has notified the  guidelines to the schools concerned. Fraudulent methods will not be allowed anymore,” the Board informed all the inspectors of schools. The Board has also directed the schools concerned to ensure that the examinees do not face any trouble if a disaster strikes during the exam. Fire extinguishers and other requisite measures have to be taken by the centres. However, it is alleged that many important centres are yet to meet the guidelines laid down by SEBA.
