14 houses gutted at West Siang

Itagar, Dec 6: At least 14 houses were reduced to ash while properties worth several crore were damaged in a devastating fire that took place at Doji Jeko village in West Siang district on Friday night.

The inferno could be contained form spreading into the whole village due to timely intervention of fire brigades from Basar, Aalo, Army and ITBP, an official communiqué informed here today.

UD Parliamentary Secretary Techi Kaso, Daporijo ZPC Susil lo and Tamar Ekke who were passing through the village on the fateful night expressed their shock and consoled the victims. Kaso handed over one lakh as relief to the fire victims. The district administration also distributed immediate relief of Rs. 4000/- each to the fire victims through circle officer who is monitoring the incident, the communiqué added.
