140 legal arms deposited in Baksa

TAMULPUR, March 11: With the elections around the corner, as many as 140 legal arms have been deposited in different police stations of Baksa district, following the model code of conduct. Earlier the district administration notified all arms holders of the entire district to deposit arms so that fair and free election can be conducted. “Till now 140 arms have been deposited with us. The response from all arms holders is satisfactory. We are hopeful that the election will be peaceful. The overall situation in the district is under complete control. We have put the police on high alert. Anyone trying to create disturbance will be dealt with seriously,” said Singharam Mili, Additiol Superintendent of Police, Baksa while interacting with the media.
