15 Chemistry students BN College of Dhubri  visit Ayurvedic manufacturing unit Rhino Research Products

DHUBRI: Fifteen students from BN College of Dhubri studying major in Chemistry, on Friday visited Rhino Research Products (RRP), an ayurvedic medicine manufacturing unit, to study and gather experience as to how to extract herbs and shrubs used in preparing medicines and also to learn and know the chemistry of production.

The students visited the Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing unit of Rhino Research Products located in ward no. 11 of Dhubri town. They were welcomed by marketing executive of RRP, Hemant Oswal who took them to the storeroom of dried herbs and shrubs used in the production of 20 kinds of Ayurvedic medicines by this manufacturing unit.

Oswal, accompanied by manager Subhrendu Chakraborty, also showed them the boiling plant of herbs and shrubs and supply point from there to storage for sedimentation and then to manufacturing different medicines. At last, they were taken to the bottling plant and then to the packaging unit.

All the students said that this was their first experience of visiting any Ayurvedic manufacturing unit. “We learnt many things about Ayurvedic medicines and all the questions we put forwarded were explained elaborately by Hemant Oswal,” they said. Head of the Department of Chemistry, Mousumi Das, Assistant Professor Murshida Karim and Assistant Professor Malabika Bora accompanied the students to the RRP manufacturing unit.

The principal of BN College, Dr Dhruba Chakrabortty thanked RRP for facilitating the students to visit the manufacturing unit. “By visiting the unit, students will not only gather experience of manufacturing Ayurvedic medicine but also understand the chemistry of production,” Dr Chakrabortty said.
