15-day Assam Mahotsav to showcase Assamese culture and tradition

Jorhat, November 30:  Intendem, a socio-cultural organization of Jorhat will organize the 14th Assam Mahotsav at Jorhat District Sports Association playground with a 15-day programme from December 9.

At a press meet at Jorhat Press Club on Monday, organizer Dilip Kumar Bordoloi, secretary of Intendem, said, “We are organizing a mega festival where there will be stalls showcasing muga, pat and small-scale industries. We will showcase Assamese culture and tradition through Assam Mahotsav.”

Raj Kumar Duwara, another organizer, said that artisans from Tamil du, Cheni, Harya, Punjab, Kerala, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Aruchal Pradesh and galand will take part in Assam Mahotsav. Drawing competition and creative dance competition, among others, will also be held among children.

Assam Mahotsav will be iugurated by renowned artist Kirti Kamal Bhuyan at 4 pm on December 9.
