15 injured in road mishaps in Baksa

Tamulpur, May 5: At least 15 persons were injured in three separate road mishaps at Tamulpur in Baksa district during the last 24 hours.

11 persons were injured on Wednesday evening at around 5.45 pm, when a star bus bearing registration  number AS-28-C-1728 coming from Darrangamela to Rangia collided head on with another bus bearing registration number AS-01-AT-1569 , on Rangia-Bhutan road at Panitenking under Kumarikata police outpost in the district. The star bus hit a woman identified as Nilima Boro (45) and her granddaughter Bojoithi Boro (2),  who were coming on foot to Panitenki Chowk. Locals with the help of Kumarikata police rescued the persons and shifted them to Kumarikata six-bedded hospital. Nilima Boro and Bohoithi were shifted to GMCH for better treatment in a critical condition.

In an another accident at about 6-30 pm, a truck bearing registration number NL-05-D-2876 collided with a Maruti Alto car bearing registration number AS-01-BX-0709 at Hajaragaon on Rangia-Bhutan Road under Tamulpur police station. The 18 wheeler truck was coming from Sandrupjhankhar of Bhutan to Rangia and hit the Maruti Alto which was coming to Darrangmela.  As a result three persons were injured. The injured were admitted to Tamulpur PHC by the local people. The truck was seized by Tamulpur police. In another accident, one Haren Boro was injured at Kalakuchi village under Tamulpur sub-division last night at around 8.30 pm.  Haren was on the way back home from Tamulpur.
