154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanda observed

SHILLONG, Jan 12: Swami Vivekanda was today remembered in the city on his 154th birth anniversary at Ramkrish Mission Vivekanda Cultural Institute here. Speaking on the occasion PBO Warjri, State Chief Secretary, said, “The youths of the state should stay away from any intoxicants like alcohol or drugs since such substances make people forget the truth.” He said that people should be honest in their day to day life as honesty is important for upholding the truth. “We see intolerance in the world today where youths are also influenced by certain forces that sows the seed of intolerance,” he said adding that showing respect to other religions is the need of the hour.
