16 persons sentenced to life imprisonment for murder

DHUBRI, Dec 21: The court of the Additiol District and Session Judge of Dhubri on Monday sentenced 16 accused persons to life imprisonment in the murder of three persons, and acquitted 13 persons in a cross case.

Monowar Ali, Additiol District and Session Judge, sentenced life imprisonment in connection with the session case number 135/06 and South- Salmara PS case number 25/03 against Md. Rashid Ali, Sabur Ali Mandal, Manik Bhuyan, Hamid Mandal, Hussain Ali , Ebrahim Ali Mandal, Manik Mandal, Sattar Ali Bhuyan, Nurul Mollah, Abdur Rashid Mandal, Abdul Kader Mandal, Sarbesh Ali, Abdul Baten Bhuyan, Sabur Mollah, Usuf Ali and Rezzak Bhuyan for committing murder of Saidur Rahman Mandal, Sahid Ali Mandal and Rahij Uddin Mandal. This apart, the court acquitted 13 persons in a session trial cross case (89/08).The brutal killing took place on February 16, 2003.
