160 mobile phones seized from Gurgaon jail

Gurgaon, Aug 3 : The Gurgaon Police has seized 160 cell phones from the inmates of the Bhondsi jail here, Police Commissioner vdeep Singh Virk said on Monday. “We have detected 160 mobile phones working in Bhondsi jail in a raid conducted by our officials,” he said. There have been reports that a few gang leaders operate from the jail itself. “We got the information of mobile phones being used in the jail through technical evidence, informers, and inmates,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajesh Kumar told IANS.

Kumar said a list of crimils using mobile phones in the jail has been handed over to the jail authorities by Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) V.P. Godara. Five inmates of the jail have been booked for using mobile phones illegally inside the jail premises.(IANS)
