170 couples tie knot at mass wedding ceremony

Golaghat, April 26: In a unique marriage ceremony held at Thurajan Tea Estate Public Durga Mandir in Golaghat on Tuesday, a total of 170 couples got married. The marriage ceremony was organized by the Hindu Chah Jangosthi  Sanskriti Suraksha Parishad Purvottar Golaghat District Committee with a view to help the fincially backward young men and women belonging to tea tribes and other such communities. On Tuesday, more than 1,000 people gathered at the Durga Mandir premises at Thurajan Tea Estate for the marriage ceremony. Traditiol rituals were performed by And Gopal Dasji Maharaj from Govardhandham in Uttar Pradesh.
