175 minority women given leadership training

HAJO, July 2: Rural Women Upliftment Association of Assam, a state level leading civil society organization, organized a training programme on Leadership Development of Minority Women at seven Minority domited villages of Hajo Block in Kamrup district. The training programme was sponsored by Union Ministry of Minority Affairs. The programme, which was launched on June 21, will be concluded on July 3. Out of the seven villages training programmes in five villages —Baramboi, Gallipar, Helacha, Pub-Japia & Pachim-Japia villages have already completed.  Programmes in the rest two—Chakma and Amdola of Soalkuchi under Hajo block will be concluded on July 3.  In the Launching programme which was attended by the respective PRI Ward members, Minority Welfare Board Members, Social Workers SK Bordoloi, Chairman of the Organization elaborately explained the broad aims & objectives and need of such programmes especially for the minority women. During the six-day training session lectures on different subjects & topics including Leadership Development,  Reproductive  Health,  Child Health, Adolescent Reproductive Sexual Health, Nutrition, Health & Hygine, Swaccjha Bharat,  were delivered. Altogether 175 women from Minority community   actively participated in all the   6 days sessions of the training programmes.
