TINSUKIA, Sept 6: School teachers here cheered as they witnessed their colleagues were felicitated by the State Education Department as part of Teachers’ Day celebration on Saturday.
As many as 19 teachers from primary and secondary schools from Tinsukia district were felicitated in a programme held at District Library Audotorium here for their performance and service to the field.
The felicitation programme, organized by District Education Department in association with the Tinsukia District Administration, was formally iugurated by Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner (DC) Puru Gupta. The programme , presided over by Jnyan Ranjan Dey, was also addressed by Ranjit Dutta, General Manger of Northeast Coal Field.
Speaking on the occasion a teacher said, “It is a challenge faced by teachers in present times as children are well advanced in seeking knowledge and are exposed to various topics by media. It is a greater responsibility now for teachers to be well equipped with adequate knowledge to face the children’s’ queries.” “Primary and high school education is a very important phase in the lives of children and is heavily influenced by teachers,” he added.
