1962 Indo-Chi war bomb discovered

Itagar, Nov 13: A live unexploded bomb from 1962 Indo-Chi war was discovered at Mechukha in West Siang district of Aruchal Pradesh recently. Weighing around 3.5 kilogram and having a circumference of 7.96 cm, the 81mm Mortar bomb - believed to be Chinese made - was dug out during the excavation at the ongoing construction site of Advanced Landing Ground (ALG). Notably, Mechukha valley in West Siang district was one of the most strategic locations wherein the fierce Indo-Chi war took place in 1962. While informing about the discovery, Colonel R Parthasarathy, Project Mager, ALG, Mechukha, said that more such discoveries were expected in the construction site. The live bomb has been handed over to the artillery unit of Indian Army for its diffusion.
