1st leg of ASPL quarters begin today

GUWAHATI, July 6: The first two quarter fils of the Assam state Premier League (ASPL) Soccer tourment will be held in two different venues tomorrow. Karbi Anglong Morning star will face Tezpur United at Diphu while in the other game in Guwahati FC Green valley will play against Golaghat Rhino.

Both Morning Star and FC Green Valley are placed themselves as the strong contenders for the title after the end of the league stage of the tourment. Both the team performed brilliantly in the league matches and finished top in the points table in their respective groups. If they continue similar performance tomorrow then both the teams shouldn't face too much problem to overcome the challenge of their opponents.

However FC Green Valley is little bit cautious on the eve of their game against Golaghat Rhino. Talking to The sentinel resh Chetry, the coach of the side said, " I am satisfied with my team's performance in the tourment. However now we are going to play the knock out matches and I feel we should be little cautious this time."

He also added that his side is not taking Golaghat Rhino lightly. "Although Golaghat Rhino didn't play as per the expectation in the group stage but the team is not bad at all. There are few players in the team who can run very quick and create trouble on my defense."

Meanwhile FC Green Valley will miss the service of Satwinder Singh, one of the key defender, as he got marching order in the last game. resh Chetry although admitted that it is a setback for the team but added: We got sufficient time to arrange the altertive of Satwinder and I hope we will not face too much problem tomorrow.

Tomorrows match: Quarter fils (1st leg)-FC Green Valley vs Golaghat Rhino (Guwahati, 3-00PM), Karbi Anglong Morning Star vs Tezpur United (Diphu, 3-30PM)
