2 killed, 12 injured in lightning strikes

KOKRAJHAR, May 8: Two persons were killed and nineteen others injured in separate incidents of lightning in Kokrajhar on Thursday evening. The first incident took place at Simbargaon under Kokrajhar police station where one Theleb Boro (18) died on the spot. She was cooking dinner when lightning struck. Her husband, who was assisting her, also received injuries along with four others in the area. In a separate incident, one Them rzary (41) of Bhaoraguri Relief Camp, Karigaon under Karigaon police outpost also died on the spot due to lightning. Seven others were also injured in the area. All the injured persons were admitted at Kokrajhar RN Brahma Civil Hospital.
