20-day free summer workshop under way in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, July 4: The 20-day free summer workshop for school children, organized by Dibrugarh Hindu Milan Mandir (DHMM) started from July 1 at the DHMM premises. The iugural function held on the occasion was chaired by DHMM president Madhusudan Ghosh. The chairperson of the Dibrugarh Municipality Board, Soma Chakraborty,  while attending the iugural function as chief guest, formally iugurated the function by lighting a traditiol lamp in presence of former Headmasters of Dibrugarh Bengali High School, Parimal Mukherjee, Koli Mukherjee, staff reporter of Purbanchal Prahari, Lalit Sharma, publisher and staff reporter Dainik Yugasankha, Sanjib ndi,  noted dramatist, Soumen Das Gupta, and Vice-Principal (Administrative), DHSK College, Dr Sudakshi Das Bordoloi, attended the function as guests of honour.

DMB chairperson Soma Chakraborty in her iugural address lauded the efforts of the office bearers of DHMM for organizing a workshop for children during summer vacation, which she claimed ‘would help tiny tots to explore their hidden talents’. She said the workshop would facilitate the participants in building their persolity with creative attitude.

Speakers who addressed the function also spoke elaborately about the significance and necessity of summer workshop for school children.  They also called upon the parents to avail the opportunity and give exposure of their wards to a world of camaraderie, discipline and skill of decision making. Lee Paul’s opening song enthralled the gathering.

Earlier, coorditor of the workshop, Gopa Chowdhury  gave an outline of the various programmes of the workshop while assistant secretary of DHMM, Biswajit Chowdhury offered vote of thanks.
