200 BJP workers join Congress

Doomdooma, Nov 28: Disillusioned with the functioning of the ruling Bhartiya Jata Party (BJP), 200 BJP workers left the party and joined Congress (I) in presence of local MLA Durga Bhumij at a public meeting held recently at Kasturba Gandhi Centre, stated the vice-president, Kakapathar Block Congress Committee.

The meeting which was organized by the Daimukhia Mandal Congress Committee and was presided over by Lakhi Sonowal, president, Kakapathar Block Congress Committee, and was attended by the office-bearers of both the Kakapathar and the Hapjan Block Congress committees. In the beginning, rich tributes were paid in the hallowed memory of the first president of the Daimukhia Gaon Panchayat (GP), Kurcha Tanti. The meeting adopted a resolution to strengthen the organizatiol base of the Congress party.
