22 injured in Hailakandi bus mishap

Hailakandi, October 31: A Traveller bus swerved off the road and fell into a paddy field near Hailakandi bypass on Monday afternoon, injuring 22 passengers, including five women and two children, stated a press release. The driver of the speeding vehicle bearing registration no.AS 11-AC-2016 lost control while it was on its way from Nivia (Karimganj) to Silchar. The driver and conductor are absconding till the filing of this report.  Of the injured, four grievously injured have been admitted at Silchar Medical College and Hospital while those sustaining minor injuries are undergoing treatment at SK Roy Civil Hospital.  Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi, Moloy Bora visited the hospital to take stock of the health condition of the injured and directed the health authorities to provide the best of medical care and treatment to the injured.
