22nd Foundation Day of BBWLC observed at Haflong

Haflong, Sept 26: To commemorate the 21 years of glorious existing of Body Building & Weight Lifting Club of Haflong, the 22nd Foundation of the club was observed here at Cultural Institute Hall, Haflong in a befitting manner on Thursday.

The event was graced by Kulendra Daulagupu, Executive Member of N C Hills Autonomous Council in charge education, sports and youth welfare etc as the chief guest while a host of well wishers, senior and founder members of the club were also present.

The programme started with lighting of candles aiming the peace and tranquillity in the district of Dima Hasao and also the well being of the youth community.

Speaking on the occasion EM Daulagupu said how the NCHAC and its present executive committee has been trying to uplift the sports in the district and to exploring the talents of the youths in the field of sports not only in the district level but up to tiol and intertiol level.

He also said with the returning of peace in the district, a tremendous momentum has geared up not only in the field of other development activities but also in the field of sports. This is quite evident from the fact that the district of Dima Hasao has become the host of several sports and other events.

Earlier, Hrishikesh Upadhay, president of BBWLC explained the 21 years journey of the club with its contributions in the field of body building, yoga etc.

Pankaj Bhattacharje, secretary, BBWLC, Haflong while appreciating the well wishers of the club  said this club has successfully completed its glorious existence and produced several athletes and sportsman who brought pride to the district in many occasions.
