2,429 MCC violation cases in Kamrup

Amingaon, April 6: After the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect for the ensuing Assembly election in Kamrup election district, comprising Boko, Chaygaon, Palashbari and Hajo LACs, a total 2,429 cases of MCC violation cases have been registered till date and required action has been taken against all the cases. Among these MCC violation cases, FIR has been lodged against four cases and also 56 notices have been issued to contesting candidates in this regard, stated a press release.
Notices have been also served to 24 contesting candidates belonging to various political parties and Independent candidates for not complying with the expenditure rules laid down by ECI.
