25 years of Congress representation ends in Sori

SORI, May 19: Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) won the two seats of Charaideo district. BJP candidate of 106 Sori constituency, BJP candidate Tapon Gogoi defeated his nearest rival, Education minister, Sarat Borkataky by a margin of 24,072 votes .Tapon Gogoi secured 73,186 votes and Sarat Borkatoky secured 49,114 votes.
It ends 25 years of Sarat Borkatoky’s rule in Sori constituency .On the other hand 105 Mahmora constituency was also won by the BJP. BJP’s candidate Jugen Mohan defeated his nearest Congress rival, Suraj Dihingia by a margin of 14,307 votes .BJP candidate Jugen Mohon secured 48,961 votes and Congress candidate Suraj Dihingia secured 34,654 votes.
