26 IPFT supporters injured in Tripura road mishap

Agartala, Oct 8: At least 26 persons sustained injuries when a Bolero jeep carrying Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Twipra supporters over turned near a BSF camp at Manpathar Bazar, under Manu police station in South Tripura district, on Saturday.

All the injured were taken to the local hospital from where 13 persons were shifted to the Udaipur district hospital. Later, seven of them were shifted to G B Hospital at Agartala as their condition was stated to be critical. Driver of the vehicle was also among the critically injured.

It is learnt that the IPFT supporters were returning after attending a public meeting at raifang in Shantir Bazar subdivision when the driver lost control and the car over turned. Police suspect that high speed was the prime cause of the accident.
