Kokrajhar, May 14: Preparations for the two-day long 26th foundation day celebration of All Bathou Mahasabha, which will be held on May 15 and May 16 at the Bodofa Cultural Complex at Chandamari in Kokrajhar, are going on in full swing. The reception committee of the conference has been doing massive preparation and more than 4,000 devotees are expected to participate in the celebration.
Talking to reporters, Lwmsrao Daimary, convenor of the Bathou Mahasabha, said that more than 4,000 devotees would throng the venue from across the country and abroad. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary will be the chief guest on Wednesday and other distinguished guests, including MP Biswajit Daimary, ministers Pramila Rani Brahma and Chandan Brahma and EMs will be attending the concluding open session.
Dr. Mongalsing Hazwary, advisor of Bathou Mahasabha, said that the Assam government and BTC government had recently considered declaring a State holiday on Bathou San and they would submit a memorandum to BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary to pressurize the Central Government to declare a national holiday on the occasion.
