29 batteries stolen from OIL recovered

DULIAJAN, October 6: In a specific input, Bordubi police recovered 29 batteries sized 12 volts in 100 ampere of OIL on Thursday morning from a drain near Aai Than of Deohall Tea-Estate under Bordubi Police station.

According to police sources, miscreants had recently stolen 40 batteries from OIL well no. 285 which is situated near Deohall Tea Estate, which were stocked there by OIL authority. OIL security department then immediately lodged an FIR at Bordubi Police Station.

Police registered a case regarding the theft of batteries bearing no.80/16 U.S.379 of IPC. Police still have to find the remaining 11 stolen batteries. The recovered 29 batteries are worth around Rs 3 lakh.
