JORHAT, Jan 16: At least 29 passengers were injured when a speeding mini-bus turned turtle and skidded off the -Ali road in Maj Gaon, near Dholi under Jalukonibari Outpost under Titabor subdivision on Monday night, said police sources on Tuesday. The injured passengers included 20 males and 9 females, excluding the driver and conductor of the bus. Out of the 29, five passengers were stated to be in critical state. The driver of the bus fled from the scene after the accident. Passengers claimed that the driver was in a fully drunken state and was playing the music system at a high volume. Though several passengers asked him to slow down the speed, the driver did not bother to slow down the bus which was travelling from Jorhat to Borhulla, said a passenger who is under treatment at Titabor PHE. Five critical patients were shifted to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) while 24 others are undergoing treatment at Titabor PHE.
