2nd annual meet of KLTA held

HOJAI, April 30: The 2nd annual meet of Karbi Language Teachers’ Association (KLTA) was held at the Basic Training Centre in Diphu on Wednesday. As chief guest of the programme, CEM of Karbi Anglong Autonoumous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang, said that the salary of Karbi language teachers would be increased and the issue of regularization of their posts would be taken up. “The present salary of Rs 8,000 will be increased to Rs 10,000 and we will try to regularize their jobs. The contract of 11 months in a year will be made a 12-month contract,” said Ronghang. A memorandum was submitted to the CEM regarding the contract of 11 months which left the Karbi language teachers with one month without job and salary. CEM also iugurated the souvenir published on the occasion titled Thankuru Ase Angtong. Dhansing Bey presided over the meeting and it was also attended by Sadha Rongpipi, BTC principal official of the Education Department.
