2nd edition of Men's Conference held

GUWAHATI, June 2: SHEROES hosted the 2nd edition of Men’s Conference #TheSHIFT, in New Delhi on May 26, a press release said.

TheShift  was all about getting men into the conversation of gender balance.

The event was spread into two panel discussions deliberating on the converging gender roles and tipping the scales to a more evened out playfield.

A fireside chat between Sairee Chahal, CEO Founder- SHEROES and Microsoft India President, Ant Maheshwari kick started the event. Ant opened up the evening with the most relevant statement which formed the base for the evening’s talks.

“Diversity is not just about gender and when we have diversity it leads to greater innovation,” he said. The first part of the discussion curated by former business jourlist turned entrepreneur, Mitali Mukherjee.

The panellists were three power couples, singer, actor, Som Kalra, CEO & Founder, MarkSharks- Aditya Tripathi, Priya Krishn - CEO, Founding Years Learning Solutions and Sanjay Krishn - Founder, Lithium Urban Technologies, and Ant Maheshwari, Microsoft India President who was accompanied with his lovely wife Akanksha Maheshwari, Director, Marketing and Communications, Marriott Intertiol. The corporate stalwarts shared their #MakingItWork stories on the platform.

The key takeaways of the event were how marriages don’t run on set rules of  dos and don’ts. It is an ongoing process which keeps evolving with the passing time.

The talks revolved around the significance of sharing the load and how the change begins when you strive for it.

The second panel discussion was moderated by Punit Modhgil, founder of Octane, who  discussed about the changing voice of the marketers.

“The change which is reflecting in our voice and thoughts is slowly being emulated in the brands and products we are using,” Modhgil said.

Swati Bhattacharya , chief creative officer, FCB Ulka and Hitesh Malhotra, Chief Marketing Officer, Nykaa participated in the 2nd session and spoke at length about this positive change and how marketing will play a crucial role in seeding this thought in popular media.

The event closely held deliberations around gender roles and why it is high time to include men in this conversation.  The event was wrapped up with a mesmerising performance by a manipuri folk dance group which enthralled the audience with their performances like, Dholcholam, Kabui ga dance and Bamboo stick dance.
