2nd Leo Expo begins in Silchar

SILCHAR, Dec 6: The second edition of Leo Expo was iugurated by Samir Mohan Aich, regiol mager of SBI Silchar, and renowned Assamese singer Manisha Hazarika at Town Club playground here on Saturday. The Expo is being organized by Leo Advertising. It is a 17 daylong event which will conclude on December 28. The programme began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by Manisha Hazarika and Samir Mohan Aich along with other invited dignitaries.

 Speaking on the occasion, Samir Mohan Aich said the Expo is offering a platform to multitiol companies to showcase their product range in this remote part of the country. He said that after the completion of BG works and other projects related to connectivity, the scope for business in this part of the country will increase.

 Mridul Kumar Dutta, PRO, Leo Advertising, said that products in many segments including jewellery, leather products, electronic products, four wheelers and different types of food products among others will be on display in the Expo. There will be as many as 80 stalls in the Expo. Dutta praised State Bank of India, which is one of the co-sponsors of the event, for their cooperation to make it a hassle free event. Dutta informed SBI which is one of the major banking organizations of the country is supporting the organizers under its corporate social responsibility. The top level officials of the bank have also agreed to be the main sponsor for the next year’s edition of the event.

 Mridul Kumar Dutta further said that the people of the valley would be able to choose the product of their choice from stalls set up by people from many countries including Bangladesh and Nepal among others. Various products including a wide range of blankets, ladies bags and foot wear will be available. Besides, sarees made using the famous Dhakaiya Jamdani silk in Bangladesh will be available in the expo. The organizers are expecting that this year’s expo will be a successful event, both culturally and commercially. Besides, cultural events will be held every evening till December 20 where renowned artists will perform traditiol and modern songs and dance in the venue. Manisha Hazarika will also perform in the event.
