3 history sheeters arrested

SHILLONG, June 9: East Khasi Hills police on the night June 8 arrested three history sheeters for their involvement in a robbery case on the same evening, while the fourth accomplice is still at large.
The three arrested crimils were identified as  Pynshai Rani, Barabor msaw and Raj Jamatia, while the fourth persons who maged to escape is Shynsharlang Thongni, an ex-HNLC member.  
According to East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Mariahom Kharkrang, on June 8 the four came in a local taxi (ML-05-D-3288) from Shillong towards Mawsynram and at Phlangwanbroi at about 8 pm, entered the house of a lady, Darishda Rapthap (46), and looted around Rs 30,000 from her at gunpoint.
They then fled towards Dangar. On immediately being informed about the incident, the in-charge of Mawsynram police station, sub-inspector Sunil Kataria and his team moved towards Phlangwanbroi and instructed the in-charge of Dangar sub-inspector JB Tongwah to conduct vehicle checking on the Dangar-Mawsynram road. "Between 9 pm and 10 pm, the Dangar Police under SI JB Tongwah intercepted the local taxi at Pomblang which falls under Dangar outpost," Kharkrang said. Meanwhile, Synshar Thongni escaped towards the jungle as soon as he saw the police party.
A 9 mm pistol along a magazine and four 9 mm rounds, Rs 6,666 were seized from their possession. The rest of the money was with Thongni.
According to the SP, the police efforts to b the culprits were successful due to immediate information by public to the police.  Kharkrang said that all the four were arrested before in several cases of robbery and theft, and they are hardcore crimils. Pynshai Rani alias Pynshai Kharbani was arrested in previous 21 cases.
