3 miscreants bbed

MARGHERITA, May 2: Abdul Kalam Azad (Moinul) was allegedly beaten by miscreants on Saturday at Hill View, Margherita.

Around seven miscreants came in a Toyota Innova bearing registration number AS 01 BD 1044 and started hitting Abdul Kalam Azad (Moinul). They even threatened him with a 0.32 pistol with five live bullets.

But when local residents gathered, four miscreants maged to flee but three were caught by the people. They were then handed over to Margherita Police. These three miscreants have been identified as Iqbal Hussain (45) of Borbil No 2 Digboi, Chin Singh (42) of Muliabari, Digboi and Imtiaz Hussain (48) of Itabhata, Digboi. Meanwhile, it is suspected that the attack on Azad, who has a stone at Amingaon in Guwahati could have been due to business rivalry.

Margherita Police have registered a case No 113/2015 IPC  147,148,149,448,323,384,506,307 IPC  R/W 27/30 Arms Act at Margherita Police Station.
