3 Ranks Bring Laurels To St Mary’s Higher Secondary School

GUWAHATI: The Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) declared the Class 10 results on Wednesday at 9 am and three students brought laurels to the Saint Mary’s Higher Secondary School by securing a place in the top ten positions of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examinations 2019.

The 2nd rank holder Pratayasha Medhi scored a whopping 98.6 percent with a total of 593, Anushree Bhuyan scored 98.5 percent with a total of 591, and Christie Saikia scored 98.3 percent with a total of 590.

Daughter of Krishna Kanta Medhi and Putuli Thakuria Nath, Pratyasha Medhi declared her love for science and said that she wanted to practice medicine. Upon being questioned about the hours that she put into her study, Pratayasha informed that she would only take a break from studies if she felt extremely exhausted and confirmed that she was glued to her books for at least 15 hours a day.

Anushree Bhuyan is the daughter of Biren Chandra Bhuyan and Julie Bhuyan and is a lover of Assamese literature. She gushed about the wonderful authors and their books that shaped her way of thought and said that Rita Chowdhury and Anuradha Sharma Pujari were among her favorite writers. She said that she put in around 14 to 15 hours every day in her studies and wants to become a doctor. She will be enrolling into Cotton University.

Christie Saikia, daughter of Dr Saurav Jyoti Saikia and Pallavi Saikia told reporters that she planned to study medical science and become doctor. She also put in 10 to 11 hours of study time every day, proving that there is no short-cut to success and hard toil only bears fruit.

189 students appeared from Saint Mary’s Higher Secondary School this year, out of which 179 secured 1st Division and 13 secured 2nd Division. There are 83 Distinction holders and 52 Star recipients.
