30,000 tickets sold for Confederations Cup

Moscow, Nov 10: A total of 30,000 tickets have been sold on the first day of sale for the 2017 football Confederations Cup that Russia will host, the world football federations press office has said. Tickets for the 2017 Confederations Cup became went on sale on Tuesday, reports Tass.

Visa card holders got the chance to be the first to buy the tickets. Group-match tickets will start from 960 rubles ($15.5) in the fourth category (only for residents of Russia) and from $70 for the third category (for other football fans). “Overall, 30,000 tickets have been sold over the first day. Five percent of the tickets were bought by foreigners, with Chileans taking the lead with a big margin, followed by the fans of the German and US football teams,” the FIFA press office said on Wednesday.

Seven tions have already qualified for the 2017 Confederations Cup. They are hosts Russia, 2014 World Cup Champions Germany, 2015 Copa America Champions Chile, 2015 Asian Cup Champion Australia, 2015 Gold Cup winners Mexico, 2016 Euro Cup winners Portugal, and tions Cup winners New Zealand. The remaining eighth tion will be determined following the 2017 Africa Cup of tions.

The 2017 Confederations Cup will be held between June 17 and July 2 at four stadiums in Russia — Otkritie Are in Moscow, Zenit Are in St. Petersburg, Fisht in Sochi, and Kazan Are in Kazan. IANS
