347 cases disposed off during National Lok Adalat

Tezpur, July 15: In its efforts to deliver speedy justice and to curtail the overburden of pendency of cases, a National Lok Adalat was held on Saturday at Tezpur District Court premises. It was organized by District Legal Services Authority, Sonitpur under the chairman ship of the chairman of the District Legal Services Authority-cum- District and Sessions Judge Sonitpur, A K Borah.

As many as 347 cases were disposed off during the National Lok Adalat. As per officials of the DLSA, Sonitpur, a total of 1,632 cases were taken up by 11 benches. The cases related to criminal compoundable offences, bank recovery, MACT and labour dispute, land acquisition cases, electricity and water bill matters related to pay and allowances and retrial benefits, revenue cases and civil cases were taken up.
