36-member Aruchal Karate team leave for Delhi today

ITAGAR, May 17: A 36-member karate team from Aruchal Pradesh accompanied by three officials left the state today for New Delhi to participate in the KAI Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior and U-21 year tiol Karate Championship, 2016 to be held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium (New Delhi) from May 20 to 22.

WKF certified coach S Deben Sharma is the ‘Team Coach’ and KAI accredited coach Rakesh Gamnu is the ‘Assistant Coach’ of the New Delhi bound State team. Dr Marli Ette is the Team Mager.

Meanwhile, AKA President Shihan Likha Tara while briefing the players at HQs Shotokan Karate Club, HQs harlagun, advised them to maintain strength, power and tempo until end of the fight. He also advised them to maintain strict discipline during their stay in the tiol capital.

The AKA president expressed his displeasure over the Sports Authority of Aruchal’s (SAA) uncaring attitude in releasing fund due to the Aruchal Karate Association. While rrating the fincial hardships faced by AKA, particularly in sending teams outside the state to participate in various competitions and championships, Tara hoped SAA will understand the difficulty of AKA and various other sports associations in the State, who have become almost handicapped and uble to conduct even state level championships due to fund constraint.

Tara will join the state team in Delhi on May 21, a press release informed here today.
