Silchar, April 28: 37 Assam Rifles has distributed 120 solar lamps among the villagers residing in Khangnam village in Dima Hasao district on Friday. Khangnam being a remote village in Naga populated areas of Dima Hasao, lacks basic amenities like electricity. One can reach the village on foot from Pailapool-Jenamghat road. Villagers are extremely poor and are solely dependent on Jhoom cultivation and livestock for their living. The rural lot appreciated the noble initiative taken by 37 Assam Rifles.
