38th Assam Open Golf Tourment to begin tomorrow

DIBRUGARH, Jan 27: The 38th All Assam Amateur Invitatiol Golf Championship will begin on January 29 at Digboi Golf Links. The meet, organized by the Upper Assam Golf Association, will conclude on January 31. The secretary of the organizing committee Dr MK Baruah, in a press release, said that this year more than 220 golfers from different parts of the country, including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Shillong, Guwahati, Manipur, Itagar, Jorhat and zira are taking part. This championship is meant to encourage golfing talents and over the years have witnessed highly competitive golf. There are 54 prizes in different categories and various formats with seasoned golfers vying for the top honors, the Best Gross prize. A colorful souvenir edited by Tridiv Hazarika from Duliajan is to be brought out to commemorate the occasion.
