3rd  zol conference of judiciary, administration and police held

JORHAT, May 13: A day-long brain storming session of the third administrative conference of the district judiciary, district and police administration of Upper Assam division, gaon and Morigaon of Central Assam division, which was organized by Gauhati High Court, was held at the Jorhat Circuit House conference hall here on Saturday.
The conference was chaired by the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Ajit Singh. Among the judges present from GHC were Hrishikesh Roy, Ujjal Bhuyan, Manojit Bhuyan, Suman Shyam and PK Phukan. Several Registrars from GHC and Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and other district judicial officers from Upper and Central Assam zone were present and took part in the interaction.
The conference started with a meeting of the monitoring committee which was followed by issues related to the appointment of the public prosecutors, assistant prosecutors, government pleader and assistant government pleader and it also discussed how cases are to be withdrawn and how custody and disposable of valuables as well as rcotic drugs and psychotropic substances related cases could be expedited. Problems faced by judicial administration, general administration and by police administration towards each other were discussed and suggestions were give to solve such problems.
The day-long conference ended with interaction by the Chief Justice and judges with the judicial officers.
