3rd edition of Judima Festival to begin today

Haflong, Dec 27: Preparations are afoot to host the two-day 3rd edition of Judima Festival at Dibarai, near Haflong which is scheduled to begin on Thursday. Talking to this correspondent, Amrit Kemprai, working president, Judima Festival Celebration Committee, informed that the celebration committee had chalked out the date of festival on December 28 and December 29.

The Judima Festival will showcase the Judima traditiol brew rice beer of the Dimasa community and promote the tourism industries in Dima Hasao district as a whole. The main event of the festival will be colourful cultural items since the theme of the festival is cultural tourism.

Additiolly, cycling, trekking, heritage walk, home stay, semir, workshop on tourism, traditiol sports, exhibitions as well as stalls of handloom, handicraft items and tribal delicacies will also be put in the ground during the festival. Kemprai said a large number of tourists were expected to come for the festival and the opening ceremony of the 3rd Judima Festival on December 28 at the  Dibarai Playground will start with hoisting of the festival flag.
